How we make money, how affiliate links work, and why none of it changes what we recommend to you.

What affiliate links are
An affiliate link is a special web address that lets a retailer know a visitor arrived from our site. If you follow one of these links and make a purchase, the retailer pays us a small commission on the sale. The link works exactly like any other link. It takes you to the same product page at the same price. The only difference is that we get credit for the referral behind the scenes.
Our disclosure
To comply with Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines, we want to be completely clear: Mr. Kitchen Adviser has financial relationships with the retailers and brands whose products we review, and some of the links on our site are affiliate links. When you buy through those links, we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. This is how we keep the lights on and keep our reviews free to read.
Amazon Associates
Mr. Kitchen Adviser is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
What this means for you
Nothing changes on your end. Prices are exactly the same whether or not you use our links, and our commissions never add a cent to what you pay. The retailer covers the fee out of its own margin, so using our links is simply a free way to support the testing and writing we do here. If you find our reviews helpful, buying through our links is the easiest way to say thank you.
How this affects our recommendations
It doesn’t. We do not accept payment for rankings, and no brand can buy its way onto our lists or into a higher spot. Our recommendations come out of hands-on testing in a real home test kitchen, and you can read exactly how we work on our process page. Since 2024 we’ve tested products the same way: independently, with no sponsored placements and no paid rankings. When we earn a commission, it is on products we genuinely believe are worth your money.
Products we receive
Most of the products we test are purchased with our own funds, just like you would buy them. Occasionally a brand offers a review sample. When that happens, we either buy the item outright or return it after testing, and receiving a sample never guarantees a favorable review or any coverage at all. We do not publish sponsored content, and we do not let sponsorship shape our conclusions. If a relationship ever affected our judgment, we wouldn’t publish the review.
