The GAF966 is the one we would buy again for a family kitchen. Each 5-quart basket is roughly two thirds the size of a typical single-basket fryer, but together they let two foods cook at different times and temperatures so a whole meal finishes in one go. A whole chicken fits in one basket with potatoes and vegetables in the other.
The scene that sold us was a weeknight salmon dinner. Salmon ran about 12 minutes in one basket and asparagus about 7 in the other. Once both were programmed, Smart Finish delayed the asparagus so the two baskets finished together. Chicken breasts, wings, broccoli, potatoes and fries all went through the same way. Match Cook copies one basket's settings to the other for a big batch of the same food.
It has a 1600W heater and seven one-touch functions, including Air Fry, Bake, Roast, Broil and Dehydrate. The controls are easy enough for two kids to cook at the same time, using one basket each. The trade-offs are real: it takes up a lot of counter space, and it can take longer than expected to preheat, so some food needs extra time compared with the stated times.
