This is the model we would put on our own counter first. A top infrared heater and a bottom heater work together, and T-fal states no preheating is needed, so food goes in cold and starts cooking. In our kitchen it cooked faster than a typical air fryer with less flipping, and the 7.3 qt cavity had room for burgers, steaks and fries in one load. The glass top and full metal interior feel sturdy, and it runs quieter than most air fryers.

The trade-off showed up at the sink. On this dual-heating unit the bottom element bakes pan drippings onto the tray, which makes washing harder than on the top-only infrared model.
