This is the biggest and most versatile oven in the Gourmia lineup, and fries come out golden and crisp with little oil while wings get a crackly skin with a juicy inside. The dehydrate and proof modes work better than we expected, and the oven is roomy enough for a cast iron skillet.
Pros
- Roasts a whole chicken and fits a 13-inch pizza
- Single-pull French doors open together
- 12 functions, including dehydrate for up to 72 hours
- Nonstick basket and pan rinse clean and did not flake
Cons
- Durability is inconsistent, with early failures
- Outside gets very hot and needs cabinet clearance
- Crumb tray does not lock in securely
The single-pull doors open together and close with a firm magnetic snap, with no rattle or wobble. They let a bit of heat out when opened mid-cook, so keep a hand clear of the opening when you reach for a hot tray. A full tray of wings finishes in just under 25 minutes, golden and evenly crisped, and the fan is steady but you can still talk over it.
The oven runs 1700W with 12 cooking functions, a 90F to 450F range and 6 rack positions. The 37 qt figure is the manufacturer's rated capacity, and the same oven has also been sold under a 25 qt label. In practice it fits a 13-inch pizza, a whole chicken and nine slices of toast, and it cooks nuggets, potatoes and burritos quickly and crisply. It is sized best for two people, so a family of seven should plan on two batches.
Browning improves if you give the oven an extra 3 to 5 minutes after the ready beep. Since the outside gets very hot and we saw temperature inconsistencies, rotate trays halfway through. Durability is the weak point, and some units die within weeks, and the air fan can fail around four months in.
